PILAR HILL is a classical violinist from Brooklyn, N.Y., with over 70 million views on her performance videos. Beginning her violin studies at age 6, Pilar was accepted into Juilliard Pre-College at age 9 under the tutelage of I-Hao Lee. In 2019, at age 13, she placed 2nd out of 47 competitors from around the globe in the Prestigious Andrea Postacchini International Violin Competition in Fermo, Italy, becoming the first African-American Major Prizewinner in an International Violin Competition. Pilar has also won Top Prizes in several distinguished U.S. Competitions, including First Class Honors with Distinction from the Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory Achievement Program. In addition to soloing at Carnegie Hall twice, Pilar has given solo concerts for many dignitaries at iconic venues as Lincoln Center, the DiMenna Center for Classical Music, BAM Fisher, Lower Eastside Girls Club, and the New York Society for Ethical Culture. She has also traveled the world, giving private concerts at numerous esteemed venues in the U.K, Italy, and China. At age 13, Pilar concluded her first tour, performing her own arrangement of the National Anthem at various NBA games across the U.S., including Madison Square Garden and the Staples Center. More recently, she was invited by the LA Lakers to perform the National Anthem at the NBA Playoffs. She made her national television debut in 2021, performing on The Kelly Clarkson show. In 2019, Pilar was chosen for Teen Vogue's annual 21-under-21 list in recognition of her achievements thus far. She has since partnered with Prada to perform at the brand's Fall/Winter 2021 virtual show. Also in 2021, she published her first children’s book, A Neighborhood Walk, A Musical Journey. Subsequently, she was invited to be a featured Speaker and Performer at the American Library Assocation's annual conference and exhibition, alongside Former President Barack Obama, Stanley Tucci, Gabrielle Union and others. A burgeoning Wildlife Conservationist, Pilar has partnered with the ZSL London Zoo to raise money for their initiative: For People, For Wildlife, a special project geared towards expanding knowledge on issues such as animal extinction. Pilar also partnered with the renowned World Wildlife Fund to raise awareness of Wildlife issues during their recent Giving Tuesday Initiative. She has also lent her support to the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) through a guest spot within its commemorative film campaign alongside distinguished luminaries, in addition to delivering a celebratory message in honor of the WCS’s 125th Anniversary in 2020. Committed to becoming a trailblazer in the field of classical music and beyond, Pilar aspires to one day make a global mark and become a beacon of inspiration to others worldwide. Post-graduation, she has enrolled at Parsons School of Design to study fashion marketing. Her dream is that all children can pursue their passions, no matter their circumstance.
